Step 4 · Add Base Gravel Layer

Spread a 4-6 inch layer of clean, washed gravel (typically 3/4 inch crushed stone) evenly over the landscape fabric at the bottom of the trench. This layer provides a drainage base and supports the perforated pipe. Ensure the gravel layer also follows the desired slope.
